Christopher Phillips

is a filmmaker, community servant, and strategist forming Maverick Media Group, a media production company that focuses on film, television, and branding with creative content. The self-taught filmmaker used his gifts to transform audiences and ignite social change by creating the riveting short documentary film “Ferguson 365,” which appeared in 12 festivals across the globe winning five-awards. He concurrently partnered with CNN on a feature-length film. He has also worked for major entities such as Sony Pictures Entertainment and in collaboration with Coca-Cola and Essence Magazine. His diverse clientele has also included Verizon, the Associated Press, Magnolia Films, and even had his cinematography work featured in the Oscar-nominated James Baldwin documentary “I Am Not Your Negro.” Christopher has contributed his searing voice to the BBC, the Berkeley Journal of Sociology, Grammy-nominated artist J. Cole’s documentary on HBO, and has been profiled by The Washington Post, Al Jazeera, and CBS News.
